Manuka Honey
Manuka Honey has anti-inflammatory properties which help reduce redness and heal inflamed skin and eczema. It also oxygenates pores to draw out bacteria and improve acne. The antioxidants help fight off free radicals which can cause fine lines and wrinkles. The application of Manuka Honey to the skin helps it repair and regenerate, thus lessening scarring. It seals in moisture and hydrates without making the skin oily, giving a natural glow to the complexion.
The antibiotic qualities of Manuka Honey are well known and come from the Methylglyoxal (MG) which it has in higher concentration than in other honey and from Hydrogen Peroxide. Manuka Honey also inhibits the enzymes known as MMP, that destroy collagen.
